10 PM - Reviews
“10PM is an inventive, positive-spirited album packed with beats and choruses that stick in the brain. Eleonora Claps is a songwriter with a sharp sense of rhythm and groove. When her compositions are good, they’re really great.”
Matty Bannond, JazzJournal
“The music is full of subtlety and the solos by John Crawford almost creep up and catch you unawares. The music is relaxed throughout and is immensely thought provoking, and the impression is that the solos are strategically placed to allow you to reflect and process the lyrics.”
Nick Lea, Jazz Views
“The vibe can be smokey club (do you remember them?) to lounge bar - do love a slow Latin smoocher […] than the more intense 'Contemplate' or the quirky/honesty of 'Scene' (that's a bit of a grower)..”
Gerry Hectic, You & the Music
“En somme, c’est une expérience sensorielle et émotionnelle qui captive l’auditeur, le transportant dans un voyage inoubliable. Cet opus s’impose comme une œuvre d’art intemporelle qui mérite amplement d’être découverte et appréciée par un large public.”

TAKE FIVE Q&A WITH ELEONORA CLAPS
[….] What is your all-time favourite album and why?
This is a difficult question! There are so many favourites. Am I allowed to say “Live Through This” by Hole? Listening to it was an absolute key moment in my life: as a little girl in Milano, that music was one of the reasons I felt I could start playing drums and try and be a bit more free.
Prince’s “Sign O’ The Times” is also amongst the all-time favourites: my father had it on cassette (!!) and I remember just stealing it for myself and listening over and over on my Walkman (!!) – it sounded so weird to a pre-teen girl! I could not really get the meaning of the lyrics obviously, but I could tell something very interesting was going on, with him using his voice in so many different ways – I can still sing “If I Was Your Girlfriend” by heart!!

INTERVIEW
BY SEBASTIAN SCOTNEY
[…] UKJN: In your first album of songs from 2015 you recorded mostly covers, and now you’ve written all the songs. What led you to this change?
LJN: In my first album, I did include a couple of originals. One was the title track “Stars, Life and Nini” (with a melody based on Dvořák’s Slavonic Dance No.2). I had written other songs at the time, but didn’t feel confident enough to share them all.
Then I became a mother, and that changed everything. I now have very little time to worry; I let things flow out and go back to them later, with much less judgment on the moment. I feel much more free for some reason. I am no longer scared to just share my own songs, share my thoughts in music.

NEWS ITEM: Eleonora Claps Releases 'Working' - A Tribute to Motherhood
[…]
With 10 originals about the passing of time, memories of the past, and the speed of life, 10pm features the lead single 'Working' described by Eleonora as a '... song for exhausted working mums.'
'The song is all about exhaustion, and needing to cram 2,000 things into 24 hours every day. It is something that, as a mother of two with a full-time (day) job, I am particularly affected by (I am exhausted!). But it really is such a common experience these days, when everything is done at such speed.'
